On Saturday me and Jane had a perfect girly catch up day in London. We headed down to Southbank to check out the local Food Festival, oohing and awhing at the cheeses and homemade sweet treats.
After curiously studying each stall, our indecisiveness ended at the smell of Moroccan street food, when we were called over to try their Harrisa chicken.
The minty yogurt dip drew me in, drizzled over the spicy chicken and salad on a Moroccan flat bread wrap. We sneaked away to find a quiet corner where we could eat away from the public eye!
Not too full for more, we scanned the market for the perfect sweet treat. After trying delicious homemade fudge and guilt-free chocolate we decided on hot churros with a chocolate dip.
We made our way to the Saatchi Gallery, my favourite gallery in London. I love the craziness and variety Charles Saatchi displays and have been inspired by many artists featured there.
The current exhibition is New Art from Latin America and Africa, recently opened on the 11th March until September this year.
At first we were sceptical after being greeted by a room full of 97,000 plastic bags (I'd like to think I can appreciate most art but seriously... plastic bags?!), however we soon came across the work of Diego Mendoza Imbachi. Jane's favourite piece of the gallery was 'Graphis - Loggia', a beautiful large canvas using graphite. Feeling like we were lying under the sky, we both immediately wanted it as a ceiling muriel.
My favourite artist of the exhibition was Eddy Ilunga Kamuanga. His realistic painted fabrics drew me in straight away before I stepped back and appreciated the detail of the patterns.
Our day ended with a pub drink at Spice of Life in Soho where we met up with some friends and did the best friend-boyfriend introduction.
